who we are

Listening Ear Merseyside has a strong team of volunteers, both Listeners and Counsellors.

Listeners are fully trained in a disciplined reflective listening process - to find out more, please see our Reflective Listening page.

We also have a large team of counsellors who are fully trained to Diploma level and beyond. Others are counsellors in training working towards their Counselling Diploma. They all have a wealth of experience and constantly undertake continuing professional development. To find out more, please see our Counselling page.

A small team of paid part-time workers give management and administrative aid, and a talented and committed Executive Committee rounds off the team.

There are no boundaries to the receipt of referrals. However, South Liverpool and Knowsley are the main catchment areas for clients. Both have many parts that are areas of great need and figure within the bottom five on the national index of multiple deprivation.
