Listening
Ear Merseyside is
a community-based charity which provides a free, confidential,
non-judgemental reflective listening, counselling and bereavement
support service for people within the Merseyside area.
Wide
ranges of presenting problems are dealt with including anxiety,
depression, trauma and grief. This service is open to all over
the age of 16.
|

|
Listening
Ear also has a specialist programme,
called Butterflies,
which targets children and young people aged 7 to 16 years experiencing
bereavement or other family loss. The younger service users
engage in activity-based support to aid communication.
|
 |
The Friendship
After Bereavement (FAB) group
allows for mutual and group support at regular meetings and
events.
|
|
Within
this framework Listening Ear
consistently engages in innovative ways of ensuring that they
are inclusive to all and remain up to date and as effective
as possible, for example:
-
Listening to the housebound
-
Utilising music within appropriate therapies.
For
further details of these and all our activities, please see
our projects page.
In
April 2007 Listening Ear Merseyside became
a Company Limited by Guarantee (No. 5999650), which is in addition
to its charitable status with the Charity Commission.
We
view this as another stage in our continued development. Our
identity as a voluntary group, based within a community setting,
and our charitable work remain the same.
